Thank goodness for young people in my life who help to keep me young!!!!  This young man was kind enough to have his picture taken with me on seriously short notice.  We whipped up a sweet little semi-fort and sneaked under it and then poked our heads out.  Then we were informed that it was too dark so we had to send his father off to find us a flashlight and here is the end result...

Ya gotta look close, but I'm there making my "normal" stupid face and John Ryan is grinning next to me with his super sweet cookie monster shirt (that I may steal) on.  Thanks John Ryan for being such a good sport about it!!!!!

Pretty common knowledge that I don't keep in touch with too many people from high school.  There are only a chosen few that I talk to.  The ones I do keep in contact with actually mean something to me.  So, today, I'm chilling at work, having a relatively craptastic day and in walks one of those that I actually care about....

Not only did she come see me at work, she brought me presents.  LOVE IT.

w00t!  So, here's the first really random picture...

First, no, I do not know this girl.  She might have told us her name, but I don't remember.  Yes, I am absolutely serious.  Second, yes, I realize that she is hugging me.  Whatever.  She was our waitress today at the diner.  I had already decided I was going to have my picture taken with someone there.  She ended up being perfect.  Seriously - how cheesey is that picture?!?! I love it!  I hope all my randoms are as much fun as she was.

I love this kid. She has been a part of my life off and on since she was little - and by little I mean like 5(ish) years old.  I coached her at Great Lakes.  I coached her at Twistars and now I have the blessing to coach her in high school.  I remember most of the kids that I have coached over the years, but some of them are extra special.  This one is one of those extra special kids.  Love you, Nickles Chickles :)

I have so much I could say about her, but it would take all night.  I blog about her often and have many pictures of the two of us.  Why?  She is my best friend.  She is my rock.  She is that one person who keeps me strong regardless.  She has walked to thru hell and back with me.  She knows all of my faults - and I assure you there are many - and she still loves me and accepts me for who I am.  Love you, Triscuit, more than you will ever know.

She started working in the office a few years ago. I admit, initially I was not her biggest fan.  The funny thing is - as is usually the case with me, she's ended up being one of my very best friends.  She understands me.  She gets my quirky moods and laughs at my stupid jokes.  She's an amazing woman and I love her to pieces.

I've had a lot of great experiences with gymnastics.  I've met some absolutely amazing kids.  I've gotten some great babysitters out of it.  I've made lifelong friends.  It's been a helluva experience.  With the new start of coaching high school, I've had some new great experiences.  I love walking into meets with different schools and having kids that I coached years ago run up and give me a hug - there's definitely a feeling of satisfaction in that.  


Today, however, I had a different kind of fabulous experience.  Today, I got to see an old coach of mine.  How crazy is that?  For me, it was amazing.  It brought back so many awesome memories.  Gosh, one of my favs that I forgot to mention to her today was us performing before the Flint Olympian Games.  Ah, the good ole' days.

Since I almost forgot again today....I had to snag one of Meg's friends after basketball practice.  She is highly unimpressed with the fact that I am posting this picture and may never forgive me as she feels that right after basketball practice is not a good time to have her picture taken.  I hope if I bribe her with KFC that she will forgive me....

The best part of coaching again?  Getting to see my little girls all grown up...

Pretty sure this child did not always love me.  Pretty sure there were times that she wanted to kick my face in or at least tell me off.  Pretty sure my coaching career would never have been complete if I had not had the opportunity to coach her.  She is now and always have been AMAZING!!!!  I miss you, Tay!!!!

I have no intention of posting a photo with me and each individual gymnast, however, since I spent most of practice chatting with this particular gymnast, I thought it was appropriate to have her be in the "photo of the day."  And anyway, I love the kid :)  (Please pardon my hideousness which is by far worse than normal today - I got up 5 minutes after I was suppose to leave for work...*sigh*)

Ok, this one deserves at least a few words.  I love this kid....no seriously LOVE this kid.  I think when I first started coaching at the high school we kind of had a love/hate relationship.  I'm not completely sure that we still don't, but she's fantastic.  The best part about her is her carefree attitude.  She makes me laugh and it absolutely kills me that the only event she competes is bars.  Who walks in and decides they're just going to compete bars??  Yep, this girl.  And the kicker is - she's decent - I might even have to concede that she's good :)  Anyway, here's todays fun photo of the day!

My goals for this year are as follows:


1. Finish this project - ALL 365 days
2. Make it interesting.


So, here's the plan, I'm going to take a picture every day with me and someone else.  Never will it be the same person.  For 365 it will be me with someone else.  Do I know that many people?  Facebook says I do, but I'm not sure.  Regardless, it can always be a random stranger, ya know!


Anyway, here's the beginning.  I thought it appropriate that I start the project with me and my favorite girl.

FAIL.

Yup, I failed.  Total failure on this one.  I had thought I might get it caught up over the past few weeks, but that didn't happen.  So, I'm writing this one off as a loss and moving on.  There will be another 365 project - starting today actually - for 2012, but it will involve far less blogging and many more pictures.  Here's to hoping I can succeed in 2012.
