It's amazing how you can just hit it off with some people. Some you just want to hit and some you just love from the start. That's how it is with this particular young lady. I love her to pieces! She's amazing and funny and we should definitely hang out more than we do, but I'll take what I can get. Anyway, she blessed me with her presence for this picture, but I get to post two today because one of them is just funny and she's going to kill me for it and the other one is super cute!

Thankfully, I have a phenomenal and incredibly strong marriage. So, it's totally ok that I have a couple boyfriends :) This is my biker boyfriend and I love him with my whole heart and soul. He and his wife are two of my very best friends and I am so incredibly glad they are a part of my life. What's even better is that he loves me even when I'm bummin around in my lounging pants and sweatshirt.

Thank God for good friends. I was wondering how I was going to get a picture today. I had already planned a date with my couch and a blanket for all day today. I've got endless homework and snot....the two combined equal a whiney unproductive Jamie. However, Lynn decided she wanted to help me out and take a friendship bread starter off my hands. I'm glad she stopped by and saved me both with the bread AND a picture.
Let's not comment on the hideousness of my appearance - unshowered, lazy clothes, hair not brushed and full of snot...let it slide, ok?!

Wow. I keep putting up pictures of these kids. These damn gym girls. It's funny, actually. At the beginning of the season I didn't think any of the girls were going to take to me. I was concerned that they were not going to accept me as a coach. I also was not sure that I was going to be able to warm up to them. WHOA - was I ever wrong. It's absolutely insane. I love these girls. I look forward to seeing them every day. It may sound stupid, but it is one of the highlights of my day.
What sucks about coaching high school gymnastics is that you only get them for a short period of time. I'm not just talking about the season, I'm talking about the 4 years and then they're gone. Of course, I just started this year and of course there are seniors on the team AND of course I'm probably going to cry like a baby at the banquet because I'm going to miss them.
This kid makes me laugh EVERY time I see her. She's a darn good gymnast - I think - I'm not allowed to watch her compete and only allowed to watch her practice sometimes :D Apparently, every time I watch her, she falls. Figures.

Ok, so I say this a lot. I'm around a lot of kids. Most of them I adore - all for different reasons. This kid - well, I don't know what to say about her. She is hysterical. When she laughs - everybody all the way around her laughs. I have so many fantastic memories of her just from the past 5 months it's crazy. Like her busting out the lyrics to a song when some random girl's floor music started playing....and the gym was dead silent. Or how about the time she crotched the beam, laid on the floor under the beam rolling around saying, "my ass cheeks hurt." The hysterical hyena type laughter while attempting to do wall handstands? Yeah - GREAT memories...GREAT kid. <3

Well, thank goodness I actually hand my camera off to other people. Many thanks to Christie or Dakota - whichever one was taking pictures on bars. Since I completely forgot to get my picture today. Here's my cheater picture - it is from today and it is me with one other person. I just had to crop the hell out of it to make it just Kristyn and I. Good grief.

Ok, semi-funny story behind this one. This was the one of the refs for Jay's first (of five) games today. I knew I needed a picture and decided to use a random person. I've seen this ref a few times over the past few years, and he's a pretty nice guy, so I ran with it. I asked him if he would take a pic with me and explained why. He says, "Oh, I thought you were hitting one me. I am single you know." Of course, I then had to point out to him that I wasn't. Then he pointed out that I was too young for him anyway. Good grief. It sure did give Meg and I a good laugh :)

w00t! What's better than having your picture taken with a random person? How about having your picture taken with somebody famous??
Do you know who that is?!?!?! That's Alicia Sacramone!!!! If you don't know who she is, google her. Regardless, I'm super excited that I got to have a picture with her AND watch a pretty exciting gymnastics meet. GREAT day!

When we are young, most of us have dreams. Some want to be rockstars, others want to be in the NFL, still others want to be teachers or doctors. You get the idea. As a little girl, I wanted to be a ballerina. I wanted to attend Juilliard and be a world famous dancer. All I wanted to do was dance. It was the one thing - or the one place where I could be myself. I loved being on stage. Performing was such a rush for me.
Well, things change and we grow up. I grew up. I made some craptastic choices. I lost sight of what I wanted. Life happened. Am I where I thought I would be? No. Am I unhappy? No.
I did meet someone who is everything that I once wanted to be. She is amazing. She is the most phenomenal dancer I have ever met. Her talent is absolutely undeniable and I'm lucky enough to get to call her my friend.
I love this girl <3
